AGM update

The 2019 Retina NZ Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 7th September, at The Blind Foundation, 121 Adelaide Rd, Newtown, Wellington

Front door for Pedestrians or those being dropped off by taxi. The Back door is an Accessible entrance and for those requiring parking there is some parking at the rear of the building. Please call either Sue mob 0274524813 or Debra 0212621004 if you have any queries.

Debra and Sue will be at the Venue from 8:30AM on Saturday morning and will provide Tea/Coffee and biscuits up until 10:15AM for anyone who requires it. Gail Mann is our MC for the day and she will start to organise people at 10:20AM to find a seat.

PROGRAMME:

10.30AM – Karakia (Peter) with an explanation in English; Health and Safety/House keeping - Gail; Welcome - Sue; Roll Call – everyone.

11:00AM Presidents Report – Sue

11:10AM – Audited Accounts (extra copies to be available on desk) – Mike

11:20AM – Election of Officers – 1 Retiring [Peter Allen, 2 Returning [Debra Duncan and Mike Smith], and 2 new members [Ann Gray and James Carrick]. Call for any questions from the members present – Sue

Guest Speaker:

11:30AM – John Mulka, the new Chief Executive of the Blind Foundation.

12:30PM – Lunch Hour Afternoon Session:

1:20PM – Gail will reassemble group for the afternoon speakers, meanwhile Youth will start their meeting in another area of venue. (see next story for youth activities)

1:30PM – 2:30PM – Annie Cunningham, Ophthalmic Nurse will talk about various eye conditions and emerging treatments, and will take questions.

2:30PM – Wellington Free Ambulance will demonstrate how to use a Defibrillator and show us how these machines talk you through the process.

3:00PM – Afternoon Tea.
